The Modernism Week’s Featured Home: Seventies Sackley is a stunning 1975 residence by noted architect Stan Sackley, lovingly restored and reimagined by Michael Ostrow and Roger Stoker of Grace Home Furnishings. Stan Sackley is best known for a series of homes he created in “the Canyons” neighborhood of Palm Springs. Ostrow and Stoker believe Sackley’s predilection for ‘fast cars and fast women’ left little room for legacy building, remaining overshadowed by other star-chitects in Palm Springs until now. Exploring one of Frank Lloyd Wright's signature buildings in photos
Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the most renowned names in architecture, with his signature style of "organic architecture," a reinterpretation of the principles of nature through blending manmade materials with natural sunlight, greenery and other natural elements. One such example of Wright's ingenuity is on the SC Johnson campus, located in scenic Racine, Wisconsin. The campus features two buildings — the Administration Building and the Research Tower — designed by Wright himself, and the Norman Foster-designed Fortaleza Hall, which currently houses an exhibit featuring various plates from the world famous Wasmuth Portfolio, a coveted collection of framed lithographs. In addition, the exhibit features artifacts of Wright's works on loan from the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. Mashable and SC Johnson led a group of photographers on a tour of the campus to document Wright's architectural masterpieces. Below are some of the shots captured during the tour as well as a sneak peek at the current exhibit, The SC Johnson Gallery: At Home with Frank Lloyd Wright, available for visitors to tour.
